¿Qué es el subvención de Encendido Cívico en México?
El subvención de Encendido Cívico está dirigido a financiar proyectos comunitarios innovadores dentro de la comunidad Global Burning Man. Estamos interesados en programas que creen colaboraciones, produzcan acciones directas, utilicen los 10 Principios de Burning Man, sean reproducibles y aborden creativamente los problemas locales. Esta edición de la Subvención de Encendido Cívico tiene como objetivo financiar la activación cívica en cualquier estado / región de México.

Esta subvención le brinda a cualquiera la oportunidad de presentar un proyecto colaborativo, creativo y centrado en principios con la posibilidad de recibir una subvención de hasta $ 1,500 (USD).

Cronología:
– La Oportunidad de subvención se anuncia el: 7 de febrero
– La fecha límite para la presentación de subvenciones es el: 13 de marzo (medianoche)
– Los participantes del taller revisarán las propuestas de subvención en el taller 2020 en la Ciudad de México (fecha por determinar)
– Los beneficiarios de las subvenciones se anunciarán el siguiente fin de semana

¿Qué tiene de especial el subvención Encendido Cívico de México?
Las solicitudes para el ciclo de subvención de Encendido Cívico 2020 de México serán discutidas y juzgadas por un grupo de participantes y líderes comunitarios que se reúnen en la Ciudad de México. Este grupo utilizará las presentaciones como material para revisar y apoyar mientras aprende a administrar sus propios programas de subvenciones cívicas.

¿Quién es elegible para aplicar?
Individuos, grupos y organizaciones ONG son elegibles para postularse. Alentamos que los proyectos sean respaldados por un contacto regional (CR) de Burning Man. El CR no necesita ser un líder del proyecto, o estar muy involucrado con el proceso, sino que simplemente respalda el proyecto y los líderes que están presentando. Reconocemos que no todas las regiones tienen RC locales y lo alentamos a que presente su solicitud incluso si ningún RC puede respaldarlo.

¿Cuánto puedes pedir?
La subvención máxima que puede otorgarse es de $ 1,500 (USD). Alentamos la viabilidad de su proyecto para que no dependa únicamente de esta subvención. Piense en otras fuentes de financiación que podrían estar disponibles. Las subvenciones otorgadas podrían ser inferiores a la cantidad total.

¿Qué tipos de propuestas probablemente no serán financiadas por este programa?
Los programas que se basan únicamente en esfuerzos artísticos y no tienen un aspecto comunitario o cívico probablemente no se considerarán para su financiación. Los fondos no se deben usar para recaudar fondos directamente, esfuerzos de promoción de capítulos o para pagar a las personas por su trabajo.

¿Qué esperamos de los beneficiarios?

What is the Mexico Civic Ignition Grant?
The Civic Ignition Grant is aimed at funding innovative community projects within the Burning Man Global Network. We are interested in programs that will create collaborations, produce direct actions, utilize the 10 Burning Man Principles, reproducible, and creatively tackle local problems. This edition of the Civic Ignition Grant is aimed at funding civic activation in any state/region of Mexico.

This grant gives anyone the opportunity to submit a collaborative, creative, and principle-focused project with a chance to receive up to a $1,500 grant (USD).

Timeline:
–  Grant Opportunity is announced on February 7th. 
–  Deadline for grant submissions is March 13th (Midnight)
–  Workshop Participants will review the grant proposals at the 2020 workshop in Mexico City (date TBD)
–  Grant recipients will be announced the following weekend

What’s special about the Mexico Civic Ignition Grant?
Submissions to the 2020 Mexico Civic Ignition grant cycle will be workshopped and judged by a group of participants and community leaders that come together in Mexico City. This group will be using the submissions as material to review and workshop while learning how to administer their own civic grant programs.

Who is eligible to apply?
Individuals, Groups, and Not-for-Profits are all eligible to apply.  We encourage projects be endorsed by a local Burning Man Regional Contact.  The RC does not need to be a project lead, or heavily involved with the process, rather they are simply endorsing the project and the leaders who are submitting.  We recognize not all regions have local RC’s and we encourage you to apply even if no RC is able to endorse.

How much can you ask for?
The maximum grant that maybe awarded is $1,500 (USD).  We encourage your project’s viability to not be solely dependent on this grant.  Think about other sources of funding that might be available.  Grants awarded could be less than the full amount.

What types of proposals will likely not get funded by this program?
Programs that are solely based on artistic endeavors and do not have a community or civic aspect will most likely not be considered for funding.  Funds should not be used for direct fundraising, chapter promotion efforts, or for paying people for their work.

What follow-up will be expected by grant recipients?
All recipients will be expected to submit written reports on what they have accomplished and learned in the course of their projects, along with accompanying visual media.  This media will be hosted on the Burners Without Borders website.
