Made in the Shade

The Wasatch Community Gardens are organic and solar powered, stewarded by a very environmentally and forward thinking organization. The Wasatch Community Gardens work with homeless women and provide produce to ESL schools. Made in the Shade project participants teamed up with Wasatch Community Gardens Green Team to create a shade structure between two shipping containers. The shade is for The Green Team: a group of women facing homelessness that are in a program where they earn a competitive wage while learning job skills and organic gardening. Made in the Shade also purchased materials for their greenhouse.
