Round Two for the Maynards

Lyons Outdooor (Stihl dealer in Frankfort, KY) just DONATED all the repair and maintenance, parts, sharpening of blades and added in some oil and mixed fuel for the 7 chainsaws we got back from Bremen, KY Volunteer Fire Dept!
These are the same chainsaws that (we all donated !!! and) were used in Muhlenberg County, KY after the December 2021 tornados there. They were well-maintained at their home in Bremen and were in surprisingly great running order, but we wanted to make sure these chainsaws would be good another two years, if needed. (Fresh gas, oil filters and air filters replaced, etc).
This donated time and labor is a relief for us now, as the repair/maintenance and parts were a little over $500, and that’s hard-earned donated cash we don’t have to spend and we can divert on to other necessary & needed supplies.
Lyon’s said the whole crew just pitched in and decided that’s what they wanted to do, they all worked together and got them done in two days! Now they are just waiting on one part and I can pick them all up by tomorrow morning… Matt and I will hopefully then be shuttling all of the supplies on down to (east Kentucky) Millers Creek Fire Rescue in Ravenna tomorrow evening.
Such great news this morning, and HAD TO SHARE!
This is our first fully outfitted crew of volunteer firemen, and they are coordinating directly with a local Fire Chief in WNC.
If you’d like to send your local firemen, (even if just for a weekend!), have them contact the North Carolina Fire Marshal’s
Office and see if they have work requests needing to be filled. They’ll hook your Fire Chief up with *one on the ground* needing manpower, and he/she will advise you about what y’all need to bring for food and accommodations. Remember! ***if coordinated and welcome, Tools, PPE and supplies can be left behind with the WNC Fire Dept you assist, and these tools can be used again and again to help to outfit the next crew, the next crew, and so on. *** SO SEND THE BEST!

I’m picking up a load of chainsaws we got donated for the tornadoes 2 years ago in Western Kentucky on Thursday and delivering to another Fire Dept (on the other end of the State) Friday! Now accepting cash donations and chainsaws (also durable protective equipment) for “boots on the ground” volunteer firemen going down to do tree work and helping families in WNC.
