Living Library

The Living Library Project in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia fosters dialogue, empathy, and understanding by turning people into “living books.” Participants can “borrow” a person for a conversation, engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds—such as marginalized groups, activists, or community leaders—to challenge stereotypes and build social connection. By creating a safe and respectful space for open conversation, the project promotes inclusion, reduces prejudice, and strengthens the fabric of civil society through the power of human stories.
