Temple of Re:creation: A Residency of Reflection and Resilience

December 17, 2025

The Temple of Re:creation began as a collaborative vision between artists in Ukraine to build a sculptural art piece through a women-led residency. Supported by the Civic Ignition Grant, the project entered a rich development phase that included research, community engagement, and a meaningful artist residency at Baranivka, a rural space that offered reflection, healing, and safety during a time of deep adversity.

While the physical installation of the sculpture was ultimately not completed due to technical challenges, as well as the ongoing impact of the war in Ukraine, the project fulfilled its spirit of fostering connection and creative community. The grant was used in good faith to support the artistic process, and the residency itself became a living embodiment of the project’s goals.

We honor this project as complete in its process-based form and thank the Off-Road Sisters Team and all participants for their resilience and contribution to art and land stewardship as a means of regeneration.
