Help Build a Dormitory for Girls in Nepal

Edge of Seven is a nonprofit organization with the mission of creating access to education, health, and economic opportunities for girls and women in the developing world. Through their Community Development Program, we collaborate with local grassroots organizations working to empower girls and women on innovative projects targeting girls and women in the most marginalized communities. Through our International Volunteer Program, we fuse international travel with service, engaging passionate individuals and creating opportunities for personal and global development.

Build a Girls Dormitory in Nepal: November 29-December 14, 2014 and April 4-18, 2015.

Join Edge of Seven in Nepal’s Everest Region to help build a dormitory for 40 girls pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at the local university in the district capital of Salleri.

The dormitory will be built using the earthbag building method and will serve girls who grew up in extremely remote villages, cut off from access to higher education. Girls like Juna Maya, who comes from a village located a 12 hour walk from Salleri and who will be the first member of her family to attend college.

On these trips, volunteers will have the opportunity to trek through the Himalayas and become fully immersed in Nepalese culture, living with local families while contributing each day at the project site. To read a testimonial from an Edge of Seven volunteer, please click here.
