Burners Responding to the Los Angeles Fires 2025

We are deeply saddened by the devastation caused by the recent fires in Los Angeles, which have destroyed thousands of homes and impacted countless lives. Our hearts are with those affected.
This resource page provides guidance and support for those seeking ways to help and those in need of assistance. Below, you’ll find information on active Burner-led projects, donation opportunities, and ways to contribute thoughtfully to relief efforts. While the impulse to act quickly is natural, we encourage strategic and compassionate action to maximize impact.
- Footprint Project (IG) and Solar Punks Club (IG) are on the ground working to provide renewable power. If you know someone in or around the Los Angeles area who needs power or if anyone you know has power equipment that they would like to deploy please refer them to the jotforms below.
- We host a Disaster Relief Page on our website as a resource to understand the phases of a disaster, how you can help, helpful guidelines, and find additional resources.
- Connect with local Burners
- LA Fire Mutual Aid Resources and Mutual Aid Los Angeles Network Fire & Windstorm Resources to find and offer aid. (Use tiny.cc/malan-fire to send a quick link or connect on IG)
This loss is profound, but within it lies an opportunity to reimagine and rebuild. Rather than simply replacing what was lost, we can focus on creating resilient and equitable systems that honor the land, support communities, and withstand future challenges. Want to talk with us about Regenerative Disaster Response? Come to the upcoming BWB Worldwide Call on February 18th.
***If you are already part of a response project aligned with local leadership around the LA Fires, please email us at bwb@burningman.org so we can support and connect you with others***

Burners Without Borders (BWB) emerged in response to the urgent need for action during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Since then, BWB has evolved into a platform for civic leadership and community resilience, supporting various projects. We place great value on fostering community resilience initiatives and promoting “communities of practice” that help people to navigate crises like the one we face now—and will undoubtedly face again. We are here to support Burners who lead disaster recovery efforts, and amplify trusted organizations already engaged in this work.
