Sheep Hide Tanning with Ritual Reverie

Ritual Reverie facilitated a multi-day hide tanning workshop at Fly Ranch, bringing together participants to learn traditional, land-based tanning methods using natural materials and ancestral techniques.

Hosted outdoors on the Fly Ranch property, the workshop focused on hands-on, full-cycle processing of hides — from fleshing and soaking to softening and smoking. Participants learned not only the physical process but the cultural and ecological context of hide tanning as a regenerative, reciprocal practice.
